• To be eligible, nominees must be 21 years of age or older, be legal residents of the United States, and reside in one of the following greater metro areas: Charlotte, North Carolina; Birmingham, Alabama; or Memphis, Tennessee.
• Nominees must be willing to have photos, his or her name, quotes, and other materials included in external communications.
• Employees of General Mills affiliated companies, advertising, public relations and promotion agencies, and the immediate family and household members of each, are ineligible. Void where prohibited by law.
• All volunteer activities of the nominee must be unpaid. However, those nominees who receive a nominal stipend for their service may be eligible.
• Feeding Dreams Local Heroes will be invited to participate in key program events that might include on-air radio appearances, on-site local retail events, a community service event, and biography details posted on General Mills Feeding Dreams Web site.
• The selection committee will review applications on a monthly basis for recognition in September, October, November, January, February, and March. Each nomination will be judged by a committee based on the criteria outlined above. Decisions will be final.
• Awards will include the following:
  • A $500 Visa Check Card and an assortment of General Mills products will be presented to each market’s selected Local Hero on a monthly basis (September, October, November, January, February, and March).
  • A $1,000 donation will be made on behalf of each selected Local Hero to his/her designated 501(c)(3) accredited organization.
• Nominees will be required to sign an Affidavit of Eligibility and Liability/Publicity Release. An alternate nominee may be selected by the committee if any selected nominee cannot be reached, is ineligible, or declines to participate.

All nominations and accompanying materials become property of General Mills, with all rights to copy, edit, broadcast, publish, and use, in whole or in part.
